Group Coaching Japan

A group/team program at Myoto-ji temple

This is a unique program targeted at groups/teams of up to 10 senior professionals. Self-awareness is strengthened, group dynamics leveraged, and collective creativity explored; away from luxury, noise, and daily business demands.

We experience the simplicity of everyday Japanese life and creativity-based methods (‘sōzō-sei no tenkai’). You’ll explore your context, your team and your leadership from a new perspective.

Location & setting:

We begin with a welcome evening in Narita village (one night). The following day we travel together by Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Kitakami (Iwate prefecture), about three hours towards North.

The three-day program (spread across four days) is hosted at Myoto-ji, a Zen Buddhist temple held by my family’s heritage.

The program’s sessions take place at the temple; overnights are at a nearby city hotel.

What to expect:

  • Deepening self-awareness and understanding of group dynamics
  • Entering a safe, well-contained space for deep conversation
  • Working on your own professional case studies, using the group for reflection
  • Learning creativity-based and reflective practices you can take back to your context

Format:

  • Preparation: preparatory dialogue & individual pre-work
  • Day 1 (Narita): arrival and welcome
  • Program: multi-day guided group/team program on temple premises
  • Follow-up: individual executive coaching session (online)
  • When: May 25 to June 1, 2026 (option 1) & July 9 to 14, 2026 (option 2)

Who it is for:

Senior leaders/professionals, teams or groups in different roles, organisations and/or sectors. Business-fluent in English (‘must-have’).

Practical notes:

  • Group size: max. 10 participants
  • Travel in Japan (Tokyo -> Kitakami -> return) is organised and accompanied
  • Accommodation in Kitakami is in a hotel (not at the temple)
  • The temple is active; we hence use the premises respectfully
