I started Naomi Israel Consulting (Ni) in spring 2022. The 22 years prior, I served passionately as senior leader in change and transformation within financial services, heading teams up to 50 employees. I worked for Deutsche Bank, UBS, and Credit Suisse, geographically moving from Germany to Singapore to Switzerland. Today, I engage as independent consultant and coach, leveraging my professional experience, cultural heritage, and academic foundation.

Observing a painter’s journey
The featured picture is an acrylic painting by Lola Larsen. Lola is an amiable Danish painter, who felt instantly inspired by the beauty of Montferrat, Piedmont, Italy, while visiting my family at Casa Hygge. It is her first acrylic painting after spending many years skilfully crafting pictures with oil paints. I learnt from her, that mixing acrylics is much more difficult than mixing oils, simply because the acrylics are already beginning to dry as you are in the process of mixing the right shade.

Transformation
The picture was taken on July 10, a very hot day in Zurich, Switzerland. My partner and I decided to escape the heat and to embark onto the famous trail walk from Schwägalp (1’287 m.a.s.l.) to the top of Mount Säntis (2’502 m.a.s.l.). While the general direction and the destination were clear, we were less aware and had to swiftly adopt to the increasingly stony, steep, rocky, partly iced, and windy paths. We got also surprised by the cold temperature when approaching the mountain top (merely 8 degrees Celsius).

Three weeks ago, Oirase Gorge, a deeply beautiful river valley from lake Towada towards the Pacific ocean, presented itself during a misty day in its early autumn colors.

Looking back and looking forward
May 1st, 2023 marks the 1st anniversary of launching Naomi Israel Consulting in my new role as Consultant & Coach for Change. It is a wonderful opportunity to reflect and to look both, back and forward. I am especially grateful towards my first sponsors, partners, and clients. Thank you sincerely!
