In my practice serving clients as Executive Coach and Organisational Change Consultant, I always aim towards engaging with organisations, leaders and, specialists in a creativity-based intervention; whereby creativity has many faces.
To further my studying organisations in a psychoanalytic way, I continue my research, which has started with an intervention during my master thesis.
Drawing on concepts from across the disciplines of psycho- and socio-analysis, neuroscience, and drawing, this research study designs and tests a creativity-based intervention, named Sōzō-sei no Tenkai, to unlock the unconscious dynamics within the Swiss banking sector. Using the left and right brain, accessing the individual and collective unconscious, and revealing human dynamics and social defences within Swiss banking could potentially create a more human, effective, and resilient transitional environment for purpose-driven talent. Such professionals are shaping the sector’s fast-changing future role within its own boundaries, namely Switzerland, and also in its larger context of competing within global financial services.
Testing the intervention within the Swiss banking sector reveals rich data that invite exploration and leverage from a system psychodynamic perspective, allowing the sector to humanise and advance its approach to strategy formulation and execution. The past few years have, more than ever, demonstrated that traditional organisational consultation alone fails to lead to deep, lasting, and sustainable change.
This research study provides evidence that the intervention is suited to exploring and surfacing the psychological and systemic complexities found within the Swiss banking sector. It creates a safe space as well as confidentiality, which allow unconsciously suppressed human dynamics and unrecognised social defences to come to the surface of awareness.
